Kilby Shores Elementary School is nestled in the center of the Kilby Shores residential community. Lori Banks principal, and Jill Paraska, assistant principal, lead the dynamic staff at Kilby Shores. The school houses students in grades preschool through fifth grade. Our school’s mascot is the Kilby Shores Mariner and the colors are blue, green and white.
Upon entering Kilby Shores, visitors are met by artwork of students that is showcased throughout the building. Students are recognized for their achievement on a routine basis.
Throughout the year the names of honor roll students are proudly displayed on the “Tree of Knowledge outside of our library. Special recognition for our Kindergarten students can be found on the “Hats Off to You” wall closer to the kindergarten hall.
Students who attend Kilby Shores have an array of experiences which include participation hands-on experiments, Crew Hops, journal writing, field day, talented art and music classes, student assemblies designed to reinforce the Standards of Learning, field trips for most grades, Accelerated Reader, Young Writers contest, PTA Reflections cultural arts competition, and a host of other activities.
